Terms and privacy

This one page covers both the terms of use and the privacy notice. Splitting them mostly helps the writer, not you. Everything here applies to startupazores.pt.

The site is run by Binns Pte Ltd. That is a company registered in Singapore, UEN 202202464G.

What this site is

A reference site about starting a company in the Azores. It also covers the Portuguese routes to living here. And it lists businesses that work with founders doing both.

Every number here comes with the law it is from. It also comes with the date we last checked it. If a number cannot carry both, we do not print it. If we have not been able to check a number, we keep that page out of search results.

What this site is not

It is not legal or immigration advice. In Portugal, only licensed professionals may advise you about your own case. We are not one. Everything here describes how a public process works in general. It says nothing about whether it will work for you.

The eight questions tell you which public route matches your answers. That is a rule of thumb, not a judgement about your case. Before you spend money, check with a lawyer. Or check with AIMA, the Portuguese immigration office.

It is not a promise. Rules change, and not on our schedule. We fix pages when we find out they are wrong. We print the date so you can judge how much to trust them.

Companies in the list

We build the list from public records. Mostly that is the list of incubators the government has approved for the Startup Visa.

A company is not a person. So most of what we hold is not personal data at all. Sometimes a listing names a person. We publish that under legitimate interest. The information is already public. It is what founders are looking for. And it is plain fact.

Any listed company can have its entry taken down. There is a removal link on every listing. We act within 30 days. We do not ask why.

Paying us moves a listing up a page. It never changes a word of what we wrote. We mark every paid spot as paid. The full rules are on the "How we rank" page. They are the same rules for everyone.

If you give us your email

The tool asks for an email only at the end. By then it has already given you the answer. We store nothing before that.

Tick the consent box and you are asking us to do one thing. We pass your answers to up to three matched companies. They can then contact you about your move. We record the time you ticked the box. We record the IP address you ticked it from. Consent has to be something we can show.

We never send your details to more than three companies. We never send them to a company that has not agreed in writing to look after them.

You can take that consent back at any time. Reply to any email we send, or write to the address below. Taking it back does not undo an introduction we already made. We cannot unsend it. It does stop any new one.

We do not run a newsletter. We do not sell email addresses.

How we count visitors

We use Google Analytics. It counts visits. It shows us which pages people read.

Google Analytics puts cookies on your device. It sends Google data about your visit. That data can go outside the EU. Google can use it in its own products.

This site has no cookie box. If you use the site, you agree to all of this. If that is not what you want, please leave now.

You can still block it. Set your browser to refuse cookies. Google also has a browser add-on that turns Analytics off.

We do not sell what it collects.

Paying for a spot

Spots are sold as monthly or yearly subscriptions, through Stripe. Cancel any time from your own billing page. You do not have to contact us. Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not refund the time you have already used.

Your price is held for twelve months from the day you join. That holds whatever we charge later.

For business customers in the EU outside Portugal, VAT is reverse-charged. We do not add it. We check VAT numbers at the checkout.

Write to [email protected]. A person reads it. Use the same address for a removal, a data request, or a complaint.

Think we handled your data badly and we have not put it right? You can complain to the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados. They are the Portuguese authority for this.
